Old Glory Honor Flight
Appleton International Airport is honored to partner with Old Glory Honor Flight, a local nonprofit, whose mission is to offer our local WWll, Korean and Vietnam war veterans a safe, memorable and rewarding tour of honor to our nation’s capital. It’s a whirlwind trip to Washington DC; it happens all in one day and is completely free of charge to the veteran. It’s one way our community can say ‘thank you’ for their service and sacrifices to our great country.
Appleton International Airport hosts multiple honor flights per year and provides vital ground support to the annual Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight during EAA’s AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI.
Since 2009 Appleton International Airport has proudly assisted Old Glory Honor Flight in accomplishing 55 missions to date, assisted over 4,000 war veterans take their tour of honor and hosted over 50,000 individuals, families, friends, volunteers and community supporters during the festive ‘Welcome Home’ celebration events on flight day.
