Delta 717 Now in Service ATW to ATL
Delta upgrades Appleton to Atlanta direct flights to Boeing 717 – Appleton, WI: Outagamie County Regional Airport now offers a Delta Airlines Boeing 717 on daily service direct between Appleton and Atlanta. The Boeing 717 is a twin-engine, single-aisle jet airliner. It has 12 first-class seats, 15 economy comfort seats and 83 economy seats.
First Class has been upgraded to the Delta standard, with the same recline seats featured in their 757-300 fleet. Economy Comfort and Economy are outfitted with slim line seating that allows for additional knee clearance. Every seat offers USB and 110 volt power; Wi-Fi and wireless entertainment on demand are available throughout the plane.
The 717 replaces a 76-seat CRJ-900. According to Abe Weber, Airport Director, ‘Delta has recognized our community’s support for non-stop service to Atlanta, and this 110-seat plane offers more comfort and amenities for passengers on Delta mainline service.’
About Outagamie County Regional Airport: ATW offers non-stop service to 7 destinations through Delta, United, and Allegiant Air. In 2015 the airport will re-brand as Appleton International Airport, opening a US Customs & Border Protection ‘user fee’ station to accept aircraft carrying up to 20 passengers, and air freight, directly from international airports. The ATW campus covers 1,700 acres including Gulfstream Appleton, FedEx air cargo distribution center, Air Wisconsin, the largest privately held regional airline in the US, Fox Valley Technical College Public Safety Training Center, and Platinum Flight Center, the airport owned Fixed Base Operator (FBO) which provides, aircraft services including fuel, maintenance, hangar and ramp services. ATW is currently marketing a 56-acre Aviation Business Park, shovel ready with utilities and broadband telecommunications access in place, minutes from US Interstate 41.
