Appleton International Airport offers several fulfilling volunteer opportunities. Currently, we are looking for:

  1. ATW Ambassador
  2. Parking Lot Shuttle Driver

Volunteer Scheduling

ATW Parking Lot Shuttle Drivers provide a quick ride to travelers as they arrive and depart from our airport. You’ll be working outside, driving our ATW shuttle 6-passenger golf cart. During our peak spring break season, some travelers will park at the far ends of the parking lot. Your job is to offer them a ride to minimize their walk in the cold.

Shuttle Driver Duties:

  • Welcome travelers
  • Shuttle travelers and visitors in golf cart from parking lot to/from terminal
  • Work in assigned areas including but not limited to: parking lot area and ticketing lobby
  • Keep current on airport information and changes
  • Understand parking lot number system to find traveler cars quickly
  • Wear the required uniform and project a positive and professional image

Shuttle Driver Requirements:

  • Minimum commitment of one, three-hour shift per week
    Sample shifts include (other shifts available):
    Wednesday 3:30-6:30 p.m.;  Thursday noon-3 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m.;
    Saturday 4:15-7:15 p.m.; Sunday noon-3 p.m. and 4:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Attend training sessions, a 1-hour orientation, plus monthly follow-up training
  • A commitment to support the mission of the Appleton International Airport volunteer program and the airport
  • The ability to sit and stand for part or all of a shift; may be required to do some walking and pushing of wheelchairs. Those with physical restrictions will be accommodated as much as possible.
  • Be reliable, efficient and committed to providing exceptional customer service
  • Be able to work cooperatively and courteously with diverse groups of people
  • Current airport employees may volunteer; however, the performance of regular job duties during volunteer hours are prohibited

ATW Ambassadors provide friendly and courteous assistance to travelers and visitors as they arrive and depart from our airport. Ambassadors serve as information resource specialists to assist travelers and visitors with flight status, gate location, baggage claim, ground transportation, as well as providing directions and information about the surrounding communities and assisting travelers as needed.

Ambassador Duties:

  • Meet & greet travelers & visitors
  • Answer questions & provide information about surrounding areas
  • Provide assistance to travelers with special needs
  • Answer inquiries about lost & found
  • Provide wheelchair assistance
  • Assist with luggage
